With StRIVE, you will have the opportunity to connect with passionate and dedicated UCSD peers who want to directly impact the community and be a mentor and friend to students ages 18-22 within San Diego Unified School District's transitional education program, TRACE. You will emphasize the importance of placing a person first before their disability, and you will strive to promote social inclusion and assist students in becoming self-advocates. Where many organizations aim to make a difference, StRIVE’s mission targets a very specific group with unique demands. Our coaches plan and implement their very own lessons to best support the TRACE students with whom we work.
How to Apply
The StRIVE coach application process consists of a written application as well as an interview with members of the StRIVE officer board. You can apply here or head on over to our Facebook page where our quarterly application can also be found (www.facebook.com/ucsdstrive). Feel free to message the page or send us an email if you have any questions!
